Aqua Bilflo is a water consumption and billing platform purpose-built for residential and commercial buildings. It centralizes metering data, automates billing, enables tenant visibility, and helps vendors manage supply routes and usage analytics. It bridges communication between building administrators and service providers while giving tenants clarity on their usage and payments.

The Challenge

The client needed a scalable system that could digitize water metering data from multiple buildings, generate accurate bills based on usage slabs, and provide real-time dashboards to different user roles (tenants, vendors, property managers). Key challenges included role-based access control, accurate consumption tracking, and minimizing disputes from bill discrepancies.

The Solution

I developed a full-stack solution with a modern Next.js frontend using TailwindCSS and Zustand for state management. The backend, built with Django and PostgreSQL, handled water reading ingestion, usage-to-bill logic, invoice generation, and multi-tenant authentication. Real-time data syncing was powered by WebSockets. Admins could upload water meter readings or integrate with APIs. Tenants received smart alerts, transparent billing histories, and invoice downloads. Vendors had route insights and supply statistics.

The Results

Aqua Bilflo digitized water billing operations for 10+ residential complexes within its first rollout phase. It reduced billing disputes by over 70%, shortened reconciliation cycles by 50%, and improved transparency across all stakeholders. The platform’s dashboard is now used daily by over 200 tenants and 15+ service vendors.
